I've been telling myself for the last few months I am going to make some changes in my life once the boys are gone. Not that I couldn't of made these changes earlier, but I didn't. The thing is I love taking care and helping my kids. I was there for them pretty much no matter what. I reasoned with myself that it was okay because in the big scheme of things they are really on their own for a much longer time then they are with us. And for the most part this worked. But now that they are no longer a permanent part of our household it is time for change.
I have a lot of things I want to try but I don't want to start too many at once so for now one of our goals is to get healthier with some life style changes. First and foremost we both need to loose weight and get in better shape so we can really enjoy this new life. I am giving whole foods (primarily plant based) diet a try. I recently watched the documentary Forks over Knives and it intrigues me. So I will be cleaning out our cupboards, trying new recipes and hopefully getting healthier. It will be a gradual change but a challenge just the same.
